Sheesham, also known as Indian Rosewood, is a deciduous tree native to the Indian sub-continent. The wood is known for its rich color, natural grains, strength, density and durability. It is stronger than teak, but more readily available in India. It has a smooth surface that finishes beautifully and is ideal for intricate carving.
