Pythia the Oracle of Delphi at the Temple of Apollo
Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi, was the name given to the priestess who held court at Pytho, the temple dedicated to the Greek god Apollo. During the period, becoming the Pythia was the most prestigious and authoritative position among any priestesses. Pythia is believed to interpret prophecies through the use of offering and rituals, many believed that the Pythia enter a trance like state to channel their connection with Apollo.
